Dr. Md. Rabiul Islam, Associate Professor, School of Pharmacy has recently published two original research articles on mental health as a lead/corresponding author. The first article was published in BMC Psychiatry (BioMed Central, Q1 journal with impact factor 4.90) entitled “Serum levels of interleukin-33 and mesencephalic astrocyte derived neurotrophic factors in patients with major depressive disorder: a cross-sectional comparative design” on January 12, 2024. The second one was published in Scientific Reports (Nature Portfolio, Q1 journal with impact factor 4.60) on January 18, 2024, entitled “Evaluation of serum interleukin-12 and interleukin-4 as potential biomarkers for the diagnosis of major depressive disorder”. His research areas are disease epidemiology, public health, mental health, healthcare burden, and healthcare policy. He has published more than 150 scientific articles in international peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Islam has ranked 8th among all researchers and research fields in Bangladesh according to the Scopus database consecutively in 2022 and 2023 (based on articles indexed by Scopus). Currently, he is serving as an editorial board member of several reputed journals, e.g., PLOS ONE, Frontiers in Public Health, Frontiers in Psychiatry, and Frontiers in Psychology.
