Two students from BRAC University has been named the Global Undergraduate Awards recently.
Baqau Hassan Omotayo, an international student from the Department of English and Humanities (ENH) has written a paper titled "Impacts of Teachers' Feedback and Correction on Students' Written Tasks: A Case Study of Nigerian Secondary Schools" as a part of the assessments for the course ENG 439: Teaching Practicum in Spring 2023 semester under the supervision of Dr. Sabreena Ahmed, Associate Professor, ENH. The paper was highly commended in the Undergraduate Global Awards in the Linguistics category, accounting for 10% of all submissions.
Mashaekh Hassan, another student from the Department of Economics and Social Sciences (ESS) was named Highly Commended in the Social Science: Anthropology & Cultural Studies category in The Global Undergraduate Awards’ 2023 Programme.
The Global Undergraduate Awards, often referred to as the Junior Nobel Prize is an academic awards program that recognises undergraduate work. It awards students from all over the world. Students can apply to one of 25 different disciplines, under the patronage of Ireland's president Michael D Higgins. The submissions are made maintaining anonymity and are evaluated by a group of international academics of each respective field.
