Ms. Sharmin Nahar Nipa, Lecturer, C3ER, BRAC University attended the Expert Group Training Workshop on Situation analysis of environmental statistics for developing "Bangladesh Environmental Statistics Framework 2016-2030" from 06-08 November, 2016. The training was organized by Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) supported by United Nations Development Programmes (UNDP) and General Economic Division, Ministry of Planning. The main objective of the workshop was to acquire suggestions or feedback towards the development of a comprehensive Environment Statistics Framework for 2016-2030. After the inaugural session, seventeen sessions were conducted in different themes, i.e. System of Environmental Economic Accounting (SEEA); Poverty Environment Accounting Framework (PEAF); System of National Accounts (SNA); Core set of Environmental Statistics of Bangladesh align with UNFDES, SDGs Targets/Indicators and 7th FYP, etc.
During the last day of the workshop, all of the participants were divided into six groups for the group work and I have worked on 'External Events and Disasters' issue. After the completion of group work, an interactive group discussion session was conducted where the participants expressed their ideas and views on the discussed issues.
