On January 24, 2017, Tuesday, researcher and author Tamina M. Chowdhury's monograph, Indigenous Identity in South Asia: Making Claims in the Colonial Chittagong Hill Tracts was launched at the GDLN Conference Room, BRAC University. Organized and hosted by the Department of English and Humanities, the event showcased Tamina Chowdhury’s book among scholars, students, and members of different organizations. Developed on her PhD work, the book has been published in 2017 by the prestigious Routledge Publishers (UK) as part of the publisher’s Advances in South Asian Studies Series. The panel of discussants included eminent scholars and researchers Professor Amena Mohsin, Department of IR, Dhaka University; Professor Afsan Chowdhury, Department of English and Humanities, BRAC University; Professor Prashanta Tripura, Department of Economics and Social Science, BRAC University, and Professor Shapan Adnan, economist and researcher.
