Three students pursuing BS in biotechnology, Cinderella Akbar Mayaboti, Dipanjana Datta and Sihinta Sabeen Shembil presented their theses on 22 August, 2016 in Room UB21511 of the MNS Department. The titles of the theses were “Isolation of furnace oil and crude oil degrading bacteria from soil”, “Antimicrobial activity of lactic acid bacteria against pathogens causing food-borne diseases” and “Isolation of lactic acid bacteria with antimicrobial activity”, respectively. Their research work was supervised by Dr. Mahboob Hossain.
Three students pursuing BS in microbiology also presented their theses on the same day. Anila Labonnya Modhu, Salma Sultana and Farah- Tuz Mumu presented their research studies in food microbiology, environmental microbiology and industrial microbiology. The research studies were conducted at the microbiology labs of the MNS Dept. under the supervision of Dr. Mahboob Hossain, Ms. Namista Islam and Ms. Abira Khan.
The Examination Committee for the theses and internship presentation was chaired by Professor A.A.Z Ahmad. Dr. Mahboob Hossain, Ms. Jebunnesa Chowdhury, Ms. Romana Siddique, Ms. Fahareen Binta Mosharraf, Ms. Trosporsha Tasneem Khan. Ms. Nazneen Jahan were also present. The Examination Committee lauded the quality research work of the students.
