IABC arranged an event named “Insight 007: Shaping the Youth” on July 31st, 2016 at BRACU.
Mr. Osama Bin Noor, Co-Founder of Youth Opportunities and Mr. Rawaab Mahyub, Business Development Director, Right Step Foundation International, attended the session as guest speakers. They shared their insightful views on current issues both in national and international spheres, in an attempt to engage the members to carry the torch lit by their incessant efforts to build a better future.
Mr. Noor conducted the first session on ‘How to Excel in Volunteer Works’. He stressed on the necessity of voluntary work by saying that it unites one with a vast network of people which helps in the long run. He shared his journey of being chosen as Forbe’s 30 under 30 social entrepreneurs of Asia and winning the 2016 Queen’s Young Leaders Award from Bangladesh. The website designed by him for Youth Opportunities has a unique functionality which has attracted youth from all over the world in the span of four years.
The second session was conducted by Mr. Mahyub. He discussed about ACWAY’s (A Common Word Among Youth) initiation and its purposes. He explained the goals of this initiative which involves uniting a wider network of people to learn to coexist in harmony and engaging youth to respond to their civic sense of duty. Mr. Mahyub also discussed an issue, relevant to present scenario – what influences someone to give in to random acts of terrorism?
The event ended with an award giving ceremony and a group photo session, honoring the partnership of ACWAY with GenLab.
