Solaiman Jony and Tanjia Afrin Turin, the FYAT coordinators selected potential candidates for the position of student peer mentors through extensive interview from a pool of applicants who are student from different departments with a minimum CGPA of 3.25. These mentors in conjunction with faculty advisers shall be responsible for facilitating the academic progress and other transition of the freshman at BRAC University for two consecutive semesters. Apart from this, 30 volunteers have been selected by coordinators to serve on FYAT Day commencing on August 29, 2016.
Meanwhile, the existing FYAT groups of Spring’16 and Summer’16 have successfully completed their post mid-term individual and group advising sessions. The main aim of these advising sessions was early identification of students who are at-risk of entering academic probation and providing students appropriate support through referrals, consultations and tutorials where necessary.
