The FYAT team selected 50 candidates from different departments for the position of ‘students peer mentors’ through extensive interview from a pool of applicants. Total 125 Students applied for the position of student peer mentors from different departments. Among the applicants, 102 students attended the interview. After a rigorous selection process, the FYAT team sent e-mail to the new mentors who have been selected for the position. These mentors in conjunction with faculty advisers shall be responsible for facilitating the transition of the freshman of Spring 2017 at BRAC University. Apart from this, 30 student volunteers have been selected to work on FYAT Day.
Meanwhile, the existing FYAT groups of Fall 2016 and Summer 2016 have successfully completed their post midterm advising sessions. The main aims of these sessions were to identify the students who are at risk of entering into academic probation and to provide appropriate support through referrals, consultations and tutorials, where applicable.
