BIGD’s Executive Director Dr. Sultan Hafeez Rahman had several meetings in August 2016 with a number of distinguished personalities such as prominent academics, policy makers and researchers regarding the research collaboration and other relevant issues of BIGD. Dr. Rahman had meeting with Professor S R Osmani, Ulster University, UK; Nagesh Kumar, Head, UN-ESCAP South and South-West Asia; Mr. Altaf Hossain Sheikh, Deputy Secretary; Mr. Kamrul Hasan, Senior Assistant Secretary of Cabinet Division; Franziska Korn and Professor Bach of The FES Bangladesh and Sir Fazle Hasan Abed, Chairperson, BRAC. He also had meeting with Mr. N. M. Zeaul Alam, Secretary (Coordination & Reforms) regarding the progress of Community of Practice on Performance Management in South Asia (COP II) project; Melina Papageorgiou, Programme Manager, Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) regarding a project advancement; Mamun Rashid, managing partner, PwC Bangladesh and Vice President of MCCI regarding collaboration of work; Hasan Mazumdar, Country Representative, Asia Foundation regarding Urban Governance project; Mr. Mahiuddin Khan, Additional Secretary, (Reforms) of Cabinet Division regarding MAGD's New opportunities and Community of Practice project; ADB's Skill Development Project with Finance Division, Ministry of Finance and Commercially Important Person; and Dr. Nasiruddin Ahmed, Commissioner, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Mushtaq Khan, Professor of Economics, Department of Economics, SOAS, University of London and Dr. Wahid Abdallah, Research Fellow of BIGD regarding research of ACC. Dr. Rahman also attended the country meeting with Farria Naeem and Professorr Fahad Khalil and a inhouse workshop of International Growth Centre (IGC), housed at BIGD. He also participated several workshops on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) organized by the Governance Innovation Unit (GIU) of Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and National Governance Assesment Famework Finance Workshop (NGAF) on National Indicators organized by UNDP & GIU. Dr. Rahman also inaugurated the GAGE Stakeholder workshop. He also chaired the IGC-BIGD Public Lecture on The Growth-Equity Nexus in Bangladesh.
