Tahsina Islam, an alumna of BRAC University, English and Humanities (ENH) Department has been awarded full-funded scholarship for her Masters in Journalism and Media Studies at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering & Technical Journalism at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences. The full funding scholarship is from Deutsche Welle Akademie and German Academic Exchange Service, (DAAD).
The University of Bonn, the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, and DW Akademie collaborated to come up with the Master's Program, International Media Studies (IMS). Deutsche Welle (DW Akademie) and the University of Bonn work jointly to administer the degree. Her program International Media Studies (IMS) is jointly offered by DW Academie. This program designed for aspiring journalists from around the globe, blends media and development collaboration with media management and communication sciences. The degree does, however, also include coursework in journalism and media practice.
The scholarship will be initially awarded by DW Academie in 12 monthly installments of EUR 934 totaling EUR 11,208. It will cover housing costs, health insurance prices, and living expenses. The Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst-DAAD will begin disbursing the same amount starting in the thirteenth month. The scholarship also covers the cost of the departing airfare to Bonn. Her classes are held at Deutsche Welle.
