To facilitate the process to achieve UHC in Bangladesh, CoE-UHC, in collaboration with USAID’s Health Finance & Governance project, Health Economics Unit of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), organised the second discussion session which falls under the series of discussion session to build awareness on UHC among different stakeholders and government officials through orientation, advocacy and strategic communications.
The second session of this series was held in the Directorate General of Family Planning, MoHFW, on 16 August 2016. Mohammad Wahid Hossain joined as the Director General, Directorate General of Family Planning and chaired the discussion session. Dr Ahmed Al-Kabir, President, RTM International, Dr Md. Khairul Islam, Country Director, WaterAid Bangladesh and Professor Syed Abdul Hamid, Director, Institute of Health Economics, University of Dhaka also attended the event as expert facilitators. Officials from the ministry and experts from public health sector attended the discussion.
