Teaching & Learning Centre has been offering Academic Success Workshop (ASW) series for undergraduate students at BRAC University. The ASW is a semester-long programme, consisting of five workshop topics, designed to assist newly admitted students and students belonging to different departments in general for developing successful study habits and skills, prepare for examinations, and enhance their academic performance. Academic Success Workshops series includes 5 segments that will proceed in sequence throughout the semester. The first segment of the series (ASW-1) was on ‘‘Study Habit Self Assessment’ in January 2016. Total 170 students attend the workshop. Sabrina Syed, Muhammad Foysal Mubarak, Tanzia Afrin Turin and Raquib Quasem facilitated the sessions. Munmun Jamil, Officer, TLC assisted for the logistics and facilitation in these workshops.
TLC also offered ASW-CU in collaboration with Counseling Unit. It was a special session for first year students on ‘Enhancing self confidence’ on January 27th, 2016. Two counselors from the Counseling Unit were the facilitators of that session.
TLC also coordinated the tutorials for first year students and the probation students who need additional support related to the specific courses. TLC is working closely with Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Department of Pharmacy and School of Law for offering this student support service. MNS dept offered tutorials in MAT 101, 110,120 & PHY 101,111,112. Muhammad Foysal Mubarak and Sabrina Syed are coordinating these tutorials.
